# Shortcuts, assistant, and developer tools

> Use Set Aside Money outside the main app.

Set Aside Money includes automation options for Pro and Max plans. Start with the tool that fits the task.

## Apple Shortcuts

Use the Apple Shortcuts integration for supported actions on your Apple devices. Check that the device is signed in and working with the intended budgeting account before using an action.

## AI assistant

Ask the assistant about your budget and supported actions. Review proposed changes and the resulting balances when a task changes your plan.

The assistant uses your selected account context. Its answer does not make a funding target equivalent to money already set aside.

## Developer API

Build exports, summaries, transaction assignments, and integrations with a scoped personal API key.

  <Card title="API overview" icon="code" href="/api-reference/index">Understand access and supported operations.</Card>
  <Card title="First API request" icon="rocket" href="/api-reference/quickstart">Create a key and verify it.</Card>
</CardGroup>

## Choose the smallest access needed

Use read-only API access for exports and reports. Use write access only when your integration needs to change transactions or Expense allocations.

Bank consent, billing, membership, and account deletion remain in the signed-in app rather than the personal-key API.
