# Priority Funding

> Put the commitments that matter most first when money is limited.

Priority Funding adds **High**, **Normal**, and **Low** priority to Expenses and Goals. Use it to express which commitments should receive money first when a payday cannot cover the whole plan.

## How allocation works

Funding completes ordinary contributions before building extra Fund Ahead reserves.

Within each phase, it considers priority first, then the earliest due date. An Expense precedes a Goal when their priority and due date tie.

| Priority | Use it for |
| - | - |
| High | Commitments you want considered first. |
| Normal | Your ordinary baseline. |
| Low | Commitments that can wait behind higher priorities. |

These examples describe choices you make; the app does not decide your priorities for you.

## When money runs short

A contribution can be partially funded. Review planned, funded, and unfunded amounts instead of assuming the entire target was covered.

Retries use the original saved funding plan. Changing a priority afterward does not silently rewrite that run's allocation history.

## Before saving

Choose the priority in the Expense or Goal editor. Priority changes the order when money is short; it does not change the scheduled contribution. Saving settings does not move money.
