Tracked credit cards have an associated credit card Expense. As you spend on a tracked card, Set Aside Money sets money aside for the card payment. That helps you see the cash committed to card spending alongside your other Expenses.

Review purchases and payments

A purchase and a card payment serve different purposes. Review transaction assignments and the card Expense when reconciling them. A payment between your checking account and card should not become a second purchase. Imported transactions can arrive at different times on the two sides of a payment. Check sync freshness and both account histories before manually adding a duplicate.

Money set aside is not a bank payment

The credit card Expense records money earmarked in your budget. It does not send a payment to the card issuer. Make the actual payment through your bank or card provider.

Existing debt and available funds

Review the card balance and the amount actually set aside. A reserve is not a promise that every outstanding balance is covered. Fund Ahead is designed for eligible recurring Expenses. Credit card reserves retain their own funding behavior. Learn about Free-to-Spend.
